“Food For Thought” strives to bring locally relevant food information to our readership. We believe that food is more than sustenance; it is our entertainment, our culture and a livelihood for many. We aim to highlight these aspects and, by doing so, promote Grand Rapids and surrounding areas.
“Food For Thought” is a magazine focused on all aspects of food in the Grand Rapids area – preparing it, sharing it, where we go to eat it, and who produces it. The targeted audience is all-inclusive as we perceive that all population segments are interested in food, whether or not involved in preparing it at home. For this reason, we will go beyond recipes to include restaurant reviews and informative articles on local producers and purveyors.
Because food affects all facets of local culture and, often, entertainment, “Food For Thought” will spotlight food traditions from a different ethnic community each month and will provide calendar information and feature articles on food-centered festivals and celebrations in and around Grand Rapids. If there are new specialty food vendors or individuals producing artisanal foods, we will introduce them to readers.
“Food For Thought” will be distributed to local food and beverage merchants, restaurants, coffee shops and kitchen shops so that customers may take them at no charge. We will also place copies with area tourism promoters and will place individual copies in waiting rooms of medical professionals and hospitals.
“Food For Thought” is printed on high-quality glossy stock, with all photography and graphics in full color. Because of high production values and all-inclusive food coverage, local readers should find issues valuable over time, and visitors could find issues of value for planning activities for future travel to this area. For these reasons, advertisers should expect potential business from both local and tourist populations. |
